HUF I am thinking about beginning a movement called HUF. This stands for Honest & Up Front. I am tired of people trying to be something they are aren't and hiding their feelings. I will start by being totally honest and up front.
I am Campbell James McLeod I am 6'3" and weigh in at a whopping 350 lbs ( I'm told I wear it well) My parents drive me crazy most the time I have gotten drunk on man occasions I have never done any illegal narcotics of any kind. I have ugly feet I love dogs I hate it when people talk behind my back and try not to talk behind others My birthday in Jan. 4, 1984 I love my girlfriend Tamara, even though we often drive each other crazy If you want to know anything else just ask and i will tell.
But this is not the reason for me writing this. hopefully you can follow. I am generally a polite person. i say hello to people that I meat and will talk about anyone. As polite as I try to be, I just don't come in contact with some people. It has been brought to my attention by someone close to me, that someone close to them was told by an acquaintance that i am rude! i know this acquaintance, but I never talk to them. Not because I am avoiding them or don't like them, but simply because I paths do not cross.
Don't you think that it is more rude for this person to go talking shit about me behind my back, then is is of me not coming in contact with them? I know sometimes I make mistakes, as we all do, but if I mess up, tell me to my face. That way I can apologize and try to figure out what to do to fix the situation and where we go from there. It is just typical of people to talk shit. And they don't do it behind people backs to save their feeling, but instead because they are too cowardly to face the truth. And what worst of all, to confront these type of situations, only gets the people in the middle in trouble, and ipso facto, I end up getting in bigger shit! What is one to do? Why can't we just wear our hearts on our sleeves, and hang what others think.
If politics did this, society would be a lot better. could you imagine someone saying. "I am not going to try to lower taxes or improve health care, but I will not increase them, and I will try to increase funding to school, although I can make no promises." Wouldn't this be a breath of fresh air?
What do you think? I would really love you to tell me, and tell me the truth. If you think I am full of shit, say so. But, if you agree, I would love to hear that too. Be brutally honest. bear it all. I look forward to hearing your opinion.

TOO MANY POSTS Does it drive you crazy when you go to online forum, and there is a few people who just seem to post a reply to every single comment on every single thread in every single room? It drives me crazy and I just need to say something. This is not a rant aimed at anyone on LJ, as I have very few friends on my list, but other forums. i have a list of different forums that i check twice a day, once in the morning and once at night, to see if anything interesting has been posted. There is always new posts, but the same *@$#ing people respond, even if they have absolutely nothing to say. For example, if someone has to move and is asking for help, they will post simply to say they cannot help. Why do they care that you cannot help? Another example is posting something as simple as "yes, i agree" on a thread that does not concern them. I understand that once thins are on the internet, they are kinda fair game, but come on. I know know plenty of intelligent people, and they don't have to have their voice heard on every topic. I also am okay with moderators posting all the time, cause that is kinda their job, but if you don't have something interesting to add too a thread, don't add anything at all. I know
Catching Up OK. It has been since Europe that I posted, so I figured it was time for me to do my quarterly post.
Starting in Europe. Wait, just before we went to Europe, I found out that the music department had accepted me, and that I had to now just wait to be accepted to UBC admissions. I was a little skeptical about this because of my grades. This was a concern that was with me all summer. Now, back to Europe.
Tamara and I had a great time. We spent just under a month (28 days) in Europe. We went to 4 countries but only really spent time in 3. We started in Spain, which was amazing and beautiful. We did this really cool program called pueblo ingles, and w would recommend it to anyone. http://www.vaughanvillage.com/webfinal/newsarticles-frommers2005.htm (if you have any questions, I would love to answer them) Then we met up with our school in Italy, where we visited Rome, Florence, and Venice. Al three were very cool. Then, we made our way up to Austria, where we went to Vienna and Salzburg. The time went bye really fast, but by the time he were on our way home, we were so tired and couldn’t wait to get back to Vancouver.
Once we got back both Tamara and I went job hunting, and ended up starting new jobs. Tamara got a job at Sunnyside campground at Cultus Lake, and I got a job at a Restaurant in Steveston, on the water, called Jakes on the Pier. These two new guys who were going to shut it down in October, but run it the way it was for the summer had just bought it. Working there has been a complete joy and a complete nightmare, all at the same time. The staff and working for and independent business have been great. The owners are there every day, and we can talk to them about anything. The negative, because I am used to working in a full sized kitchen in a big restaurant, the kitchen here is a dive. Lots of things were broke, or have broke. The menu is way to big for the size of the restaurant. Only a few people working there have formal kitchen training before working here. The last owner did everything in the kitchen, so the existing staff didn’t really know what they were doing. And… the food kinda sucked, which we have totally improved on now.
This has been a slow yet busy summer for me with the SCA. I finally got my helm, after waiting for 11 months (when I was told it would be ready in a month and a half). Tamara and I went to Axewater and had an amazing time. 4 weeks later, I had to go solo to Clinton, because Tamara had to work, but I still had a great time there as well. At Clinton, I became man at arms to Sir Ieuan Gower, which is going amazing well so far. I have been fighting as much as work permits, and I love it. On the Sept. 14-16 weekend, we are going to coronet, where we will celebrate Tamara’s Birthday, and her becoming Magdalena’s new apprentice.
After waiting to find out about UBC for 4 months, Last week I finally got word that the University had finally accepted me, and I would be starting class on September 4.
I have not seen nearly enough of my love for the summer, as our working schedules often conflict, but I get out there every chance that I get.
Now, I am cleaning my room and setiing myself up for a fresh start at a new school.
I think that that covers it. If you want to know anything more about Europe, just ask. I know that I was vague, but I could go on and on.
Hope everyone is doing well. GO T-BIRDS!

3rd day in Europe Well, it has been a while since I have posted. On Wed. afternoon, Tamara and i began our European adventure. Our flight with Air Transat was cramped, but went well. We arrived in London at 9:30 am London time and our flight ot madrid was not until 7:30 pm, so we went to the tower of London. It was cool. We got to see the crown jewels, weapons, armour, torture devices (Tamara really liked those) and the british gaurds witht he big puffy black hats. We had a bit of an adventure getting back to the airport as the transit workers gave us poor directions. On the flight to madrid, we were delayed by 1 hr, and did not get into madrid until 11:15. The airport there is huge, and it took us almost an hour to get out. By the time that we reached our hostel and were able to get to bed, it was 2 am. UNfortunately we had to wake up in 5 hours we woke up at 7:30, an got ready to leave the hostel and head to the Plaza Chambari to get picked up by pueblo ingles to head to Valdelavilla. All the people participating in the program are very nice. Some of the americans are annoying, but hey are american, who can blame them. I was absolutely dead tired and was of little use untiñ afte lunch when we got to have a siesta. Then we met back up with the group`for a bit, had dinner, and then went to bed. It felt like we were going to bed eraly but it was midnight. Today we have been involved inthe program. I have taled with 3 spaniard. One of them, Jose Manuel, is a journalsit for the major paper in MAdrid and reports on thing s in popular culture like muic and movies. Next, was Tahis, who is a kind of promoter/organizer for conferences and such. Finally, was Helena who is journalist as well, but is on the radio in Granada and reopts on things from the local new to womens issues. I am having free time right now and will have diner at 9:00. This has been a great expeience so far and I can´t wait to have my next meeting. Hope everyone is doing well back in Canada

A lost day :( I was planning on having such an exciting day today. it was going to be great. I was going to get a lot accomplished and do some really cool things. but this is how it went.
1. I went tot he Vancouver international auto show today, and i was expecting to se some really cool cars, like I did 2 years ago. But, there cars were really lame. the colest cars was the bentley GT, which is like 4 years old now. No Ferrari's, no Lambos, the most exotic cars were lotus'. my mom was looking for cars for my sister, and had she not of ben there, I would have left in almost half the time i did. It was a waste of time and money for me. GRRRRR.
2. I have been working on my term paper for music history, and I was planning on watching the opera that i am doing my research on today, but i didn't. instead, I went to work for 3 hours. It was slow and boring, but i need the money for europe. So, i had better watch the opera tomorrow.
4. Luckily, Tamara and I are going to go and get bubble tea now, and maybe i can convince her to go and watch 300 again. WE ARE SPARTA!or, if not, i hope we can watch the holiday. I know, they are at completely different end of the movie spectrum, but i really enjoyed it in theaters.
that is about it. I hope all are having fun.

Everything is falling into place So, today was a great day. I booked everything that we needed for the rest of our trip to Europe, thus our itinerary is official.
We leave on the 2nd of May, and we fly to London on Air transat. We will get there in the morning of May 3rd. Then we hang out around Gatwick for about 8 hours before we board our next flight on British airways to Madrid, which we will arrive in around Midnight. We head to our Hostel and sleep for maybe 5 hours.
The next day, we get picked up to do this p[program for a week, where we get to speak with Spaniards and help them with their English. It is in a cool little medieval village with cobble stone streets.
On the 11, we go back to Madrid for 2 days, and just bum around the city.
Ont he 13, we fly from Madrid on Ryan Air to Rome. We spend 3 days on our own in Rome before we meet up with our choir. Once they are there, we spend 2 more days in Rome, 2 days in Venice, 2 days in Florence, 2 days in Salzburg, and 2 days in Vienna.
On the 26, we leave our choir, and take the train back to Salzburg, where we will stay over night.
The next morning we take Ryan Air back to London where we will stay over night. Finally, on the 28, we fly from London back home, and should arrive in Vancouver around 2 pm on May 28.
I am really excited. We will take lots of pictures, and promise to post them on the internet with a link so people can see them.
regarding my last post about tax season, It just got better because my dad went through my taxe4s and I am getting back $300 more than I thought. MORE MONEY FOR EUROPE!

Snow in the City Snow is such a double edged sword for me. I love it! It is so pretty, it makes it feel like winter, it is calming, and there are so many fun activities you can do in it. I hate it! It brings all the stupid drivers out (not that we don't already have enoughof them, it shuts down the city, and I don't feel same around other people. Well, at least in Vancouver this is true. When we were in Calgary, it was amazing becasue "everyone knows how to drive int he snow!" WOW! what a concept.
Drivers here are just stupid. They don't realize that you may have to slow down a bit to be safe. WE LIVE IN CANADA! WE HAVE SEASON! I have been sitting here for an hour and a half waiting to go to school, but I can't becasue the traffic is stuck in front of my house. GRRRRRRRR! if everyone would just drive 5-10 km/h slower and leave 20 minutes earlier then usual, we wouldn't have this problem.
This isn't just a problem with alot of snow, We got 1.5 inches of snow last night and I can't leave home!
I suppose i should not put it off any longer. It is time to brave the stupidity of vancouver drivers and try to get out ot Langley.
Have a great day.

The unexpected So, yesterday I got a message asking me to sing today, as a soloist, in front of my school mates. I was a little taken aback, but I said sure. I was a little apprehensive because I also had 2 tests/quizes that day that i hadn't really done any studying for. Everything but my German quiz went really well. (didn't study for it and maybe got 1/10) I love days where I do better than I expected myself to do. But, now I am tired, don't want to go to work, and want to sew. What is a boy to do?
Some really exciting news! When Tamara and I are in Europe this summer, we are going to see an Opera at the Vienna Opera House! (One of the top opera houses in the world after the Met in NY and La Scala in Milan) Not only that, but we will get to see the worlds best Straus soprano! I love opera and I can't wait. We are even forgoing to vancouver production of this because there is no way that Vancouver can live up to Vienna.

I don't feel like doing anything, which kinda sucks becasue I have a test today. The things that I want to do I shouldn't do, and the things that I have to do, I couldn't be less interested in. But I guess that is life.
It is really cool how so many of you have added me so fast. COOL!
I am still waiting to get my helm, but hopefully it will be ready next monday. I can't wait to start fighting.
I had a great time this weekend. To all the new people I met, you were a hoot! I hope we have a chance to see you all again soon. Gema and Stein, thank you for opening up your house to us.
